Graduate in Science of Materials at Politehnica University of Bucharest and later assistant professor at the same University, Ruxandra Vidu gained a PhD Scholarship at the University of Osaka in Japan, offered by the Ministry of Education of Japan (Monbusho), becoming the first woman professor which received a PhD scholarship in the country.
